Duties and Responsibilities
- Initiate proactive measures that result in account resolution.
- Follow up on all assigned accounts in accordance with the pre-established goals.
- Research and analyze the account and payments.
- Respond timely and accurately to all incoming correspondence and inquiries.
- Initiate recommendations and action plans for resolving the account (examples may include rebilling the claim and/or checking the status of a claim).
- Document in our database explaining what actions were taken to resolve each account.
- Customer Service Representatives are required to perform a wide variety of clerical duties. All Billing Resolution staff must be available to assist the customer service team with incoming calls when needed.
Minimum Required Performance
- Each Billing Resolution Associate (BPR) Representative is required to maintain the department’s set goals.
- For the first month each BPR Representative is required to complete 10-15 BPR accounts per day.
- By the second month each Billing Resolution Associate is required to complete 15-20 BPR accounts per day.
- By the third month each Billing Resolution Associate is required to complete 20-30 BPR accounts per day.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 months of medical billing experience.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow through and keep current with consistent policy changes.
- Solid customer service and telephone skills.
- Knowledge and aptitude for basic computer skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working hours 7:00 am‑3:30 pm or 8:00 am‑4:30 pm as assigned.
- Customer service call center experience preferred.
- Must pass pre-employment assessment tests.
- Proficiency with numbers and research.
Physical Requirements
- Continuous sitting (up to 6 hrs/day).
- Continuous walking (up to 6 hrs/day).
- Intermittent bending, squatting, and climbing.
- Simple grasping with both hands.
- Typing/Data Entry.
