Position Title: Avionics Technician II
Position Description: Protingent has an exciting direct hire opportunity for an Avionics Technician with our client in Kent, WA
Job Responsibilities:
- Building different components and assemblies for all groups across client in all different environments (development, test and flight).
- Assisting with assembly of new and updated designs by working directly with engineering to determine best practices for assembly.
- Giving regular input on manufacturing improvement opportunities or build changes leading to more efficient assembly.
- Serve both internal and external customers across multiple systems and multiple platforms; each Technician is a valued part of the chain that supports safe human spaceflight
- A focus on safety, collaborative teamwork, and quality allows us to work together to determine the best path forward, balancing speed and safety to create high-quality components that will propel future astronauts and payloads into space for the improvement of mankind.
- Applying torque to fasteners/components.
- Fabricating, terminating, and repair/testing of wire harnesses.
Job Qualifications:
- 3 or more years' experience in Aerospace Avionics or related fields.
- Familiarity working in an ESD EPA and with tool control/accountability processes.
- Experience using standard electronics assembly tools, hand soldering and basic electronic test equipment (multimeters and power supplies).
- Experience inspecting and certifying work performed to relevant standards and specifications.
- Experience with applying torque to fasteners/components.
- Experience with fabricating, terminating, and repair/testing of wire harnesses.
- Experience inspecting and certifying work performed to relevant standards and specifications.
- Experience with application and removal of polymerics (staking, potting. Encapsulation and conformal coating).
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work a 40-hour work week (4x10's) with occasional overtime to support launch schedules.
Desired Job Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly fabrication, CCA or PCBA repair or component replacement.
- Experience with energized power/high voltage systems, battery systems or RF assemblies.
- Certification in and/or knowledge of IPC standards for assembly and inspection.
- J-STD/J-STD Space, 610, 7711/7721 Rework and 620/620 Space Addendum.
- Experience and capability to interface with Microsoft Office Suite, electronic work orders and configuration management systems.
- Experience with documenting non conformances and carrying out dispositioned repairs.

- Job Type: Contract
- Location: Kent, WA.
- Pay Rate Range: $40-$48/hr.
- ITAR obligations are associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.
