Audiovisual (AV) Project Manager

Job Summary

IES Communications is seeking an experienced Audiovisual (AV) Project Manager to oversee commercial AV installation projects from pre-planning through final closeout. This position is responsible for keeping projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned with quality and safety expectations.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing commercial audiovisual installation projects , understands the construction process, and is comfortable coordinating labor, materials, equipment, clients, installation teams, and multiple project priorities.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage commercial AV installation projects from pre-planning through project closeout .
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, safely, and according to quality standards .
  • Manage day-to-day project operations, schedules, resources, and priorities.
  • Coordinate labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and technical resources.
  • Communicate staffing needs and project requirements to management in advance.
  • Coordinate and approve equipment and product purchasing.
  • Conduct site visits during the pre-planning phase.
  • Partner closely with Sales, clients, installation teams, and management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead regular project and team meetings.
  • Track and document project progress, change orders, logistics, and key project events.
  • Oversee pre-commissioning testing and quality control .
  • Manage subordinate employee timecards.
  • Coordinate and/or provide client training.
  • Obtain final client sign-offs upon successful project completion.
  • Travel up to 25% , occasionally with limited advance notice.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–5+ years of commercial audiovisual installation project management experience , including experience managing projects from pre-planning through closeout.
  • Experience with project financials, budgeting, scheduling, and resource management .
  • Strong understanding of the construction process and commercial installation environments.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, competing priorities, and multiple moving parts.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, internal teams, field personnel, and management.
  • Comfortable making decisions, resolving issues, and taking action to keep projects moving forward.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AVIXA/InfoComm CTS certification preferred.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
