You'll perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of vehicle systems while working in a professional, team-oriented environment with stable hours, ongoing training, and opportunities for advancement.What You'll DoAs a Level 1 Mechanic, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a variety of mechanical systems, including:Brake SystemsInspect, diagnose, repair, and replace brake components including pads, rotors, calipers, hydraulic systems, and brake lines.Perform brake system maintenance to ensure safe vehicle operation.Steering & SuspensionDiagnose and repair steering and suspension components including shocks, struts, control arms, tie rods, steering racks, and power steering systems.Perform steering inspections and suspension repairs to improve ride quality and vehicle safety.Charging & Electrical SystemsDiagnose charging system concerns.Test and replace alternators, batteries, voltage regulators, and related electrical components.Perform basic electrical troubleshooting.Tune-Ups & Preventative MaintenanceReplace spark plugs, ignition components, air filters, fuel filters, and cooling system components.Perform routine maintenance services to improve vehicle performance and reliability.General Mechanical ResponsibilitiesPerform vehicle inspections and accurately identify repair needs.Safely lift and support vehicles using shop equipment.Maintain repair documentation and service records.Properly use and maintain diagnostic equipment, hand tools, lifts, and specialty equipment.Follow all company safety procedures and shop standards.Communicate professionally with customers when needed and work collaboratively with Service Advisors and fellow technicians.RequirementsMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.Automotive technical training preferred.2–4 years of professional automotive repair experience.Experience diagnosing and repairing: brake systems, steering and suspension, charging systems, basic engine performance concerns, tune-ups and preventative maintenance.ASE Certifications A4 (Steering & Suspension) and A5 (Brakes) are preferred, or willingness to earn certifications with company support.Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Ability to lift, bend, stand, and work in a fast-paced shop environment.Commitment to continuous learning as automotive technology evolves.Why Join Gills Point S?Stable, year-round workCompetitive payPaid Time OffMedical, Dental & Vision InsuranceShort-Term & Long-Term DisabilityLife & Accidental Insurance401(k) with Company MatchOngoing technical training and ASE certification supportCareer advancement opportunitiesFamily-oriented culture with strong values and operational integrityIf you're passionate about automotive repair, take pride in doing quality work, and want to grow your career with a company that invests in its people, we'd love to hear from you.
