Audit SupervisorAudit Supervisor position available in Auburn, Birmingham, and Montgomery, AL. Jackson Thornton, an accounting and consulting firm established in 1919, seeks an Audit Supervisor to plan, execute, and supervise audit engagements for utility industry clients. This role involves close collaboration with audit managers and partners to ensure high-quality audits, timely delivery, and strong client relationships.

The ideal candidate will have CPA (or CPA eligible) with 3–5 years of public accounting audit experience, working knowledge of RUS and FERC accounting standards, and proven ability to supervise staff and manage fieldwork.Responsibilities include planning and executing audit engagements for utility clients, supervising, training, and mentoring audit staff, reviewing work papers and providing constructive feedback, performing and reviewing complex audit areas, applying knowledge of RUS and FERC Uniform System of Accounts, assisting in Single Audits under Uniform Guidance, identifying accounting and internal control issues, maintaining audit quality, documentation standards, and timelines, and collaborating with audit managers and partners on engagement planning and issue resolution.Jackson Thornton offers a comprehensive, competitive benefit package to all of our professionals, which includes health, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, long term and short term disability plans, medical and dependent care flexible spending accounts, paid time off plan, and a 401(k) plan with a match.
