Anticipated Salary Range and Benefits

Salaries range from $120,000 to $155,000 per year depending on experience, with bonus eligibility beginning at 1,100 billed hours. Benefits include health insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, and other benefits.

Job Description

boulette PLLC is seeking an attorney with 1–6 years of litigation experience, including time spent in judicial clerkships. Family law experience is a plus but is not required. You will become part of a close-knit team supporting clients in appeals, complex family law litigation, and mission-driven pro bono work. You will work directly with m boulette, who has more than fifteen years of experience litigating complex divorce and custody cases and more than fifty cases before the Minnesota Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. Because of the firm’s substantial appellate practice, strong writing and analytical skills are essential. Hybrid work is a possibility, with 2–3 days in the office expected each week. In-office time is dedicated principally to mentorship, learning, and collaboration.

We offer an excellent quality of life, with an annual billing expectation of only 1,000 hours. Attorneys also have the opportunity to take on pro bono work at a variety of levels, from district court representation to impact litigation in state and federal courts.

This position will largely involve:

  • Researching and analyzing legal arguments on a variety of appellate and district court matters;
  • Legal drafting including memoranda, briefs, judgment and decrees, affidavits, and other documents required to support clients in litigation;
  • Routine court appearances as well as second chairing more complex trials;
  • Preparing and responding to discovery and working with clients to compile information; and
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • Law degree and admission to the Minnesota bar;
  • 1–6 years of litigation or clerkship experience (family law experience a plus but not required);
  • Strong writing, analytical, and legal research skills, and the ability to draw connections across multiple areas of law;
  • Developed communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to a variety of audiences;
  • Ability to work as part of a team; and
  • Commitment to pro bono and community service and experience working with and across diverse communities.
