Introduction

Our client is a privately owned companion animal hospital seeking a Full-Time or Part-Time Associate Veterinarian to join their team. Primarily caring for dogs and cats, the practice is also open to expanding into exotics or pocket pets should the successful veterinarian wish to introduce these services. The hospital focuses on building meaningful client relationships, prioritising education, personalised care, and managing patient flow. This opportunity is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.

Role Description and Responsibilities

The Associate Veterinarian is responsible for delivering high-quality medical, surgical, and preventive care to companion animals while building strong relationships with clients through clear communication and education. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, performing routine soft tissue surgeries and dentistry where applicable, managing medical records accurately, and collaborating with the wider veterinary team to ensure the highest standard of patient care. The Associate Veterinarian will also promote preventative healthcare, maintain compliance with hospital protocols, and contribute to a positive, supportive, and team-oriented working environment. This opportunity is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates. Full-time veterinarians would ideally work five 8-hour shifts per week, although the practice is also happy to accommodate a four 10-hour day schedule if preferred.
