This role requires a high level of legal expertise, strong business acumen, and the ability to navigate complex legal and regulatory landscapes.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive, results-oriented attorney with excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment.ResponsibilitiesProvide legal advice and counsel to various departments within the company on a wide range of global legal and business issuesDraft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including commercial agreements, vendor agreements, licensing agreements, and employment agreementsConduct legal research and analysis on a variety of global legal issuesAssist with corporate governance matters, including board and committee meetings, shareholder matters, and legal entity administrationAdvise on and assist with intellectual property matters, including trademark, copyright, and patent protectionAdvise on and assist with employment law matters, including hiring, termination, discrimination, and harassmentAssist in compliance, including monitoring of global legislation and regulations, as well as review and implementation of policiesAssist with drafting, reviewing and filing required filings with the US SECBusiness Development StrategyProvide legal support for business development initiatives, including M&A transactions and strategic partnershipsAdvise on and mitigate legal and regulatory risks associated with new business ventures both domestically and internationallyIdentify and implement legal strategies to support the company's overall business objectivesTeam Leadership and ManagementLead and mentor a small team of legal professionalsFoster a positive and inclusive work environment and provide coaching, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team membersDelegate effectively and ensure efficient workflow within the teamRecruit, hire, and onboard new team membersQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law school and admission in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. state, preferably in Washington, D.C., Maryland, or Virginia10+ years of relevant legal experience with 5+ years of in-house experience, preferably within a technology companyStrong understanding of corporate law, commercial law, and other relevant areas of lawITAR/export control knowledge preferredAbility to prioritize and undertake mission critical tasks, providing exceptional service to various stakeholdersAbility to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally with all levels of management regarding complex legal issuesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamHighly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectivelyStrong ethical and professional judgmentXometry is an equal opportunity employer.
