Job Overview
LTD Hospitality Group is seeking highly motivated, strategic leaders with expertise in effective and efficient hotel operations. We are looking for an energetic, self‑motivated leader to join our team as an Assistant General Manager . The assistant general manager supports the general manager with all aspects of the operation, including guest and associate satisfaction, financial performance, and sales and revenue generation.
Responsibilities
- Create and nurture a hotel environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, and a passion for providing service.
- Handle any guest problem or complaint in a professional and courteous manner.
- Interview, screen, and hire applicants as needed for hotel staffing and process new hire paperwork for all associates, providing job training to increase knowledge and skill level.
- Develop cross‑training opportunities for associates throughout the hotel.
- Recommend and initiate personnel actions, including promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
- Input weekly payroll into the company time‑keeping system and comply with all payroll department deadlines.
- Assist and teach team scheduling (using scheduling tool) against guest hours/occupied room goals to ensure staffing levels exceed guest expectations.
- Assist the general manager in developing hotel budgets and capital expenditure plans.
- Use budgets to teach department managers and team supervisors how to understand financial objectives while balancing costs with guest satisfaction and quality.
- Have knowledge and understanding of all department policies and procedures, and communicate and enforce all policies fairly and consistently with staff.
- Ensure that all brand standards are met and maintained in each department.
- Analyze and resolve work barriers.
- Interpret company policies and provide a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with safety programs and job safety analysis.
- Responsible for hotel accident prevention programs.
- Have a sound knowledge of all emergency procedures.
- Have a working knowledge of the maintenance and operating procedures of all departmental equipment.
- Other duties, projects, and tasks as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related major preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity within a hotel environment.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to clearly articulate ideas to a diverse audience, including guests, associates, management, and vendors.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet hotel needs, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call as required for a 24‑hour, year‑long operation.
- Computer literate and competent in Microsoft Office applications and brand systems.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Energetic, self‑motivated leader with a strong work ethic.
- Maintain an open door policy.
- Computer proficiency, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and a hotel brand software system.
