Assistant Director of Admissions/Slate CommunicationsPosition Title - Assistant Director of Admissions/Slate CommunicationsOverview - St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students each year. The campus is situated on 164 park-like acres—a beautiful setting for a warm, friendly campus community.Job Responsibilities - The Assistant Director of Admissions/Slate Communications oversees strategic communications that strengthen engagement, support recruitment goals, and enhance the prospective student experience across all stages of the enrollment funnel. This position manages all Slate (CRM) based communications—including email, print, and SMS—targeting prospective, admitted, and deposited students, families, counselors, and community partners.The Assistant Director of Admissions/Slate Communications organizes and maintains a comprehensive communication calendar designed to increase event attendance, encourage application submission and completion, and support yield and deposit conversion through timely, relevant, and audience-specific messaging. This role supports First-Year, Transfer, and Graduate Admissions and is a critical contributor to the University's recruitment and enrollment strategy.50% Strategic Enrollment Communications & Slate (CRM) ExecutionResponsible for planning, developing, and executing strategic communication and recruitment outreach, in collaboration with Admissions Leadership and the Marketing and Communications Leadership, across electronic and print channels. Communications are expected to cultivate interest, support application completion, and strengthen enrollment yield (prospect-to-applicant and accepted-to-matriculated conversion).Demonstrate expertise with Slate (CRM) to:Manage communication campaigns for multiple audiences including students, families, counselors, and community partners.Execute day-to-day direct marketing activities aligned with recruitment strategy.Build and maintain HTML templates, snippets, and dynamic content using conditional logic and data fields.Analyze communication performance and event engagement using Slate reporting tools; produce summary reports and recommendations.Conduct an annual audit of Slate Deliver campaigns, workflows, and ongoing mailings to ensure accuracy, relevance, and brand alignment.Print Mailings & Inventory ManagementExecute both in-house and outsourced print mailing projects.Maintain inventory of print collateral and coordinate replenishment as needed.Admissions Email Inbox ManagementManage the admissions email inbox and ensure timely, accurate, and customer-focused responses to prospective students and families. This will require the role of monitoring the mailbox and responding in the evenings and on weekends.20% Website & Digital Content AccuracyAudit admissions webpages on sjf.edu as well as public-facing partner sites to ensure all content is accurate, current, and aligned with recruitment strategy, key deadlines, and audience needs.Participate in Admissions web meetings, student search partner meetings, and collaborative planning sessions with Admissions and Marketing leadership to ensure digital content supports communication priorities and campaign timelines.Work closely with Admissions Leadership and Marketing and Communications Leadership to develop, refine, and execute communication plans for first-year, transfer, and graduate audiences, ensuring consistency across web, email, print, and search channels.10% Application Review & Scholarship DecisionsReview, evaluate, and process admissions and scholarship decisions for first-year candidates.Make judgment with regard to admissibility of candidates and determine eligibility for merit-based scholarships offered by the University.Must be prepared to advocate for students and defend decisions upon final committee/director review.10% Recruitment Events & PresentationsAssist with recruitment events, including, but not limited to campus visits, off-campus visits, open houses, Great Beginnings, and group visits.Cross-trained to conduct individual interviews and group information sessions with prospective students and their families. Must modify presentations for specific audiences.Must provide candidates with accurate information regarding enrollment, scholarship opportunities, academic program information, and general University information; as well as assess candidate.10% Other DutiesPerform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the work of the Admissions Office.Education / Experience - Required: A bachelor's degree. Preferred: Previous Slate (CRM) and/or related experience are preferred.Competencies / Skills - The Assistant Director of Admissions/Slate Communications must demonstrate strong written communication and verbal communication skills, effective teamwork, and initiative in supporting recruitment goals.

Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. are the core hours for this position.
