About the Role:
nJoin Sports Unlimited as an after-school Youth Sports Coach, where you'll inspire young athletes to develop their skills and passion for sports. We are looking for energetic and dedicated individuals to create a positive and engaging environment for youth sports in the greater Twin Cities area (e.g. Minnetonka, Northfield, West St. Paul and Plymouth).
nResponsibilities:
nLead and actively facilitate 1.5-hour youth sports camps for children ages 3–12 (arrive 30 mins early for set-up/check-in). Days and times vary by location:

nPlymouth (Flag Football, Lacrosse, Soccer, Baseball, Basketball): Tuesday, Wednesday AND Thursday Sep 8- Oct 10
nPlymouth (Flag Football, Lacrosse, Soccer, Baseball, Basketball): Tuesday, Wednesday AND Thursday Nov 3- Dec 10

nTeach age-appropriate fundamental skills across various sports in a fun, engaging, and structured environment:
nCreate a positive, energetic camp atmosphere that prioritizes participation, confidence-building, and sportsmanship
nPlan and execute daily activities including warm-ups, skill stations, drills, and small-sided games (we provide a guide for each of our activities/sports but want coaches to be creative)
nAdapt coaching style and instruction to meet the developmental needs of different age groups and skill levels
nEnsure the safety and well-being of all participants by maintaining close supervision and following all camp policies and procedures
nManage group behavior using positive reinforcement, clear expectations, and consistent routines
nLead transitions between activities smoothly to maximize engagement and minimize downtime
nCommunicate effectively with campers, fellow staff, and parents/guardians as needed
nSet up and clean up equipment before and after each session
nServe as a positive role model by demonstrating enthusiasm, teamwork, and professionalism at all times
nRespond appropriately to minor injuries, conflicts, or behavioral challenges in alignment with camp guidelines
nCollaborate with other coaches to deliver a cohesive and high-quality camp experience
nRequirements:
nPrevious coaching, playing or teaching experience in youth sports or summer camps preferred
nBabysitting, camp counselor experience, VBS, and other youth instruction experiences are also great
nStrong knowledge of various sports.
nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
nAbility to motivate and inspire young athletes.
nFirst Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
nPassion for sports and youth development.
nMust have reliable transportation
