Sterling Care Rockville, a leading provider of transitional post-acute, rehabilitative, and skilled nursing programs in Rockville, Maryland, is seeking a highly motivated, driven, and successful sales and marketing professional for the Director of Admissions position.

The Admissions Director is responsible for the overall development, coordination, and implementation of all admission management and census development activity within the facility. This is a key position on the center's leadership team.

Who you'll work with

This position reports to the Regional Director of Business Development for Montgomery County and works closely with the VP of Business Development, the regional hospital liaison team, and the center's Administrator, DON, and business office. Admissions at Sterling Care runs as a regional team, not a solo role, with a defined structure, weekly census reporting, a training program, and a bonus plan tied to performance.

Responsibilities

This job is a busy one. Successful Admissions Directors multi-task well and reprioritize daily. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Meeting weekly and monthly admissions goals against target

  • Developing and maintaining a monthly marketing plan for the center

  • Conducting effective sales calls with designated targeted referral sources

  • Managing referrals through hospital referral platforms with fast, accurate response times

  • Reviewing patient medical records for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness

  • Verifying insurance benefits and authorization prior to admission

  • Ensuring a smooth transition and complete paperwork upon admission

  • Partnering with the clinical team to determine whether the center can meet each referred resident's needs

  • Providing remote admissions coverage every third weekend on a rotating schedule with the regional admissions team

Qualifications

  • 1 to 3 years of documented outside sales, business development, or hospital liaison experience, preferably in healthcare. Skilled nursing admissions, hospital liaison, case management, or discharge planning experience is strongly preferred.

  • Previous experience demonstrating public speaking, marketing, a customer service attitude, an innovative work ethic, persuasive ability, and organizational skills

  • Active listening, excellent verbal and written communication, and a team-player mindset

  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and commercial insurance benefits, including authorization and level-of-care review

  • Experience with census and admissions management software such as CensusPro and PointClickCare

  • Experience with hospital electronic health record systems and referral platforms, including EpicCare Link, Cerner, CarePort, Ensocare, Aidin, and naviHealth

  • Comfort with Microsoft Office and reporting tools
