Compensation: $70-80 per hour
Overview
Beech Valley is seeking an Accounting Manager for an interim, short-term cleanup engagement supporting a consulting firm client in Portland, OR . This role is best suited for someone who can quickly assess what’s incomplete or messy, bring structure to the work, and drive tasks to completion in a controlled and audit-ready way.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a short-term accounting cleanup effort, prioritizing and executing high-impact fixes quickly
- Review and strengthen reconciliations, account support, and close-related deliverables
- Identify gaps in documentation and controls, then implement practical improvements
- Partner with stakeholders to clarify ownership, timelines, and dependencies
- Support and operate effectively in a SOX-aware control environment (ensuring workpapers and approvals are audit-ready)
What We’re Looking For
- Accounting Manager-level experience (industry and/or public accounting background)
- Prior experience in construction accounting strongly preferred
- Comfort working in SOX control environments (controls, documentation, evidence, approvals)
- Strong operational accounting skills (reconciliations, cleanup, close support)
- Able to work onsite and move fast with minimal hand-holding
