BMS Re has a proven ability to execute in reinsurance and capital markets worldwide.The Accounting Analyst is responsible for a comprehensive range of corporate accounting and operational finance functions. This position not only manages core accounting processes—such as accounts payable, account reconciliations, and expense reporting—but also partners in cash management, oversees internal controls, process improvements, and financial system operations to ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant accounting practices across the organization. This role will serve as a key contact and business partner for other internal business units.Essential ResponsibilitiesServe as a business partner to internal teams by managing the accounts payable function, ensuring seamless invoice review through software utilization and by coordinating timely, accurate paymentsAnalysis of cashflow and forecasting; monitor daily management as well as supporting cashflow during the annual budgeting processLead initiatives to streamline expense submission and review, expense reporting, and close processes, with a focus on scalability and automationAssist in optimizing working capital by proactively managing payment schedules and cash disbursementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-makingAdminister employee expense reporting and corporate credit card programs (e.g., AMEX, Concur), ensuring adherence to internal policiesPrepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations in accordance with US GAAPMaintain fixed asset schedules, record depreciation, and conduct annual internal audit across US offices, coordinating with key business partners.Analysis and tracking of prepaid expenses and other amortization schedulesManage lease payment processing, including rent, utilities, and service chargesSupport month-end close processes in collaboration with the Accounting Manager and Finance teamPrepare and submit tax filings, including multi-jurisdictional sales/use tax and annual 1099sCoordinate wire transfers, ACH processing, and fraud prevention controlsDevelop and maintain SOPs for accounting operationsSupport internal and external audits (annually)Hold regular meetings with Executive Assistants ensuring their support of the firm and related expense submissions follow proper accounting processPartner with Finance team and other business units to support budgeting and forecasting within areas of responsibilityCollaborate with IT, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure effective system integrations and reporting solutionsParticipate in system migrations, policy updates, compliance reviews, and special projects related to reinsurance operations and financial transformationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred), or related major2-4 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within insurance, reinsurance, or financial services.Strong understanding of US GAAP, general ledger processesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills; experience working across local and international teamsExperience with ERP systems and intermediate/advanced Excel skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work well independently and in collaboration within a team.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a global, client-driven environment.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.What's in it for me?comprehensive medical and dental plan options for you and your dependentsvision, short-and long-term disability and life insurance options401(k) with company matchemployer funded health saving accountsbusiness travel accident insuranceidentity theft and legal servicesfitness and wellness reimbursementgenerous leave policies, including parental leavepaid holidays, volunteer days and your birthday off!opportunity to purchase equityThe annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide marker range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country.
