We're seeking an experienced Accountant to join a busy accounting team on a contract basis. This opportunity is supporting a team through a planned leave coverage during a critical year-end period. The ideal candidate can quickly adapt to new environments, work independently, and contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up time.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Assist with quarterly financial reporting and accounting analyses.
- Support internal and external audit requests by gathering documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Work extensively in Excel for reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis.
- Utilize SAP and other enterprise accounting systems.
- Collaborate with business partners and cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and obtain required information.
- Support ad hoc accounting projects and other accounting-related responsibilities as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Previous contract accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to step into a new environment and become productive quickly.
- Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
- Resourceful problem-solver with a proactive mindset.
- Strong communication and business partnering skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Multiple contract assignments demonstrating adaptability and quick onboarding.
- Experience supporting year-end close activities.
- Exposure to audit support and financial reporting.
