The Norridge location of NSI is a progressive manufacturer of die castings that has been in business for 50+ years and we look forward to having you join our team! Please note, this is a full-time, 2nd shift position (3:15pm - 11:45pm, Monday - Friday). General summary accountable for performing all required tasks to support die cast operation.Responsibilities:Perform quality checks as required per routing sheet and report any issues with part quality, process and/or machineKeep all material segregated between checksIdentify defects and use measuring equipment (gauges, caliper, micrometer, etc.)Verify calibration due date on all measuring equipmentReport any nonconformances, expired or missing items to QualityProperly mix/dilute lubricantsPerform required zinc changes when applicable and refill ingots as neededProperly separate/segregate between material typesSeparate parts from runners/objectsOperate all scales and report any issues with equipment or processAt the beginning of every shift, verify that shop ticket holder, color cone, color stamps (Part ID, if applicable) are at assigned machinePerform daily operator PMs requiredOperate assigned machine(s) and report excessive machine stoppages, scrap, or other issuesClean machine, surrounding areas and collect drossClean and keep in good working condition all machines and operator tables, fans, printers, monitors and working surfacesMove material when operation is complete or when required to do soProperly fill out routing sheet and report any issues with scrap, quantity, and machineLabel and tag production when requiredWear required PPEPerform other duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor or managementRequirements:Heavy Lifting (up to 50 pounds).Basic mathBasic readingBasic computer skillsSalary: $17.00/hr.
