Youth Program Director, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

Remote Full Time Product Management

The kindest thing you can do for a student who reaches 99% of their weekly target is to say it's not finished. Not because you lack care, but because you know they can cross the line, and dropping the standard is the true disservice.

You will not be teaching academics. At Alpha, students master academic content through AI-driven adaptive learning platforms. No classroom lectures. No printed textbooks. No marker boards. The motivation and personal growth that traditional schools treat as afterthoughts are your entire focus.

Imagine a typical Tuesday. You spend half your time facilitating one-hour sessions for a K-8 group covering topics like public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange. The other half is spent working individually or in small clusters with those same students, reviewing their Coachbot data, and guiding each one to 100% completion of their weekly app targets—using school currency, competitive leaderboards, and the trust you've cultivated to overcome reluctance.

Your quarterly performance hinges on three metrics: every student in your group completes their weekly app targets, every student passes the Test2Pass mastery verification for each session, and at least 90% report that they love working with you. Fall short on any one of these, and you've missed the mark.

The reward comes when a student who insisted in September they couldn't do math asks you to increase their challenge level.

This is a full-time, in-person position based at an Alpha campus. We hire across the country, so job listings may appear in cities near campuses not yet opened.

Current positions at this compensation level are open in Scottsdale, AZ; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, Houston, and Brownsville, TX; Springfield, MA; and Park City, UT.

If you have coached youth sports, led a summer camp group, or tutored a student on the verge of quitting, the final step before an offer is spending a full day on campus coaching actual Alpha students.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour personal development sessions for K-8 groups covering public speaking, concentration, and feedback skills
  • Conducting daily individual and small-group coaching sessions that drive every student to complete 100% of their weekly app objectives, leveraging Coachbot data and Alpha's reward structures (campus currency, leaderboards)
  • Delivering the Test2Pass mastery evaluation for each personal skill, then continuing to coach any student who does not achieve mastery until they succeed
  • Modifying the session framework and creating new content when needed, so identical material resonates with both kindergarteners and eighth graders
  • Serving as both the adult who maintains the expectation and the adult your students voluntarily confide in

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Teaching from a whiteboard, designing math and literacy lessons, or evaluating assignments; academic delivery is handled by the software
  • Conducting standardized exam preparation or being accountable for aggregate test performance
  • Managing parent meetings, email correspondence, and concerns; campus leadership handles all parent communication
  • Overseeing 30 students simultaneously in a classroom; groups are intentionally small and behavioral work is individualized coaching
  • Monitoring children as they work on computers; motivation here is interactive and relational
