Salary Range $25.00 - $32.00 Hourly

Description

Responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

• Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques
• An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies, and procedures
• Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies
• Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations
• Inspect the facility on a daily schedule and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the DOD
• If a major emergency is spotted initiate the Emergency Action Plan (EAP)
• Participate in regular in-service training sessions and mandatory meetings
• Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Current certification from American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid
• Current certification from American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer
• Lifeguarding skills and knowledge
• Leadership and public relations skills
• Decision-making skills

Work Requirements:

• Able to walk, sit, stand, kneel and bend up to 8 hours in one working day
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work in a humid (degree ranges from 75-90) and noisy environment
• Able to climb in and out of the pool
