Yard Operator III

Position Summary:
The Yard Operator (Pole/Yard Utility) is responsible for branding, framing, inspecting and preparing product for treatment.
Yard Operator III:
Framer (Manufacture round stock products to established specifications in a productive, efficient and safe manner)
Assistant Pole Scaler/Inspector (Assist in inspection, grading, and manufacturing of barkies and shaved poles for inventory.
Responsibilities

• Inspect product for compliance to standards.
• Modify products' length or surface using chainsaw and wood wizard.
• Brand and tag product to specifications.
• Re-classify product as required and record re-classifications accurately.
• Safe and responsible operation of company equipment at all times.
• Clean-up of working area.
• Abide by OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) workplace health and safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of utility pole and customer standards an asset
• Time and stress management
• Ability to perform the tasks without causing damage to product or equipment
• Ability to work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments
• Basic Math Skills
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Preferred experience with chainsaws

All Yard Operator Positions:
Participates and contributes to company safety program.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
