Job Summary: In keeping with Shields Health Care commitment to excellence, the X-ray Technologist will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups, while maintaining a fast-paced, multi‑tasked oriented clinical environment. This is a per diem float opportunity across multiple sites: Brighton, MA; Dartmouth, MA; Weymouth, MA; and Brockton, MA.
Responsibilities
- Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
- Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
- Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
- Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
- Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
- Perform X-rays in accordance to center’s protocol.
- Complete all forms pertaining to the patient’s exam.
- Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
- Provide and issue films/CDs when appropriate.
- Forward data and/or films/CDs to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
- Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
- Clean and resupply equipment and rooms as needed.
- Contrast administration.
Qualifications
- Must be certified in CPR.
- Must be Massachusetts State licensed.
- A minimum of 3 months of prior X‑ray experience is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
- Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
- Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty‑five pounds.
- Above physical requirements can be met with or without accommodation.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay range: $35/hr–$50/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
