Job Title

Pool Radiologic Technologist – Surgery Center

Responsibilities

The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic X‑ray testing according to established departmental procedures, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care. The role may also include acting as a Surgery Center Technician or assisting the anesthesia function when diagnostic testing volume is low. The technologist operates diagnostic equipment, including peripheral equipment, in a safe and efficient manner to obtain optimal test results, manages patients during procedures to meet quality standards, maintains supplies, reports equipment issues, and supports organizational goals through customer service, performance improvement, and teamwork.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited radiological technologist school.

License and Certification

• Licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R).
• BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Experience

• Prefer 1 year of diagnostic testing experience.
• Ability to multitask with attention to fine detail in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at hire; required within 30‑60 days.
• NJDEP license must be renewed biannually; ARRT renewal annually.

Work Environment

Potential exposure to hospital hazards, including infectious disease, blood‑borne pathogens, injuries, and hazardous substances. Requires standing most of the time, sitting in front of a CRT monitor, and lifting patients up to 50 lb.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to department leadership.
