Purpose: The Ensemble Assistant will rehearse, perform, and/or assist with Academy Ensembles as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
General Qualifications:
Length of employment: 8/24/26 to 5/6/27, or the date a student has earned their full WS award, or is no longer enrolled full time, whichever comes first.
Evaluation procedures and schedule: Continuous open feedback, as applicable.
Purpose: The Ensemble Assistant will rehearse, perform, and/or assist with Academy Ensembles as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform with groups in rehearsals and performances. Students must commit to rehearsal and performance schedule before hiring.
- Orchestra: Saturdays, 9am-12pm
- Choral: Saturdays, 9am-12pm
- Chamber: variable by group, 1 hour per week for 10 weeks, 2 hours for end of semester concert
- Wind Ensemble: 11-12pm and 1-2pm
- Guide students in learning music and generally leading the group by example.
- Students may be asked to lead a sectional rehearsal or coach the group if faculty are not available.
General Qualifications:
- Must be an exceptional musician.
- Must possess an in-depth knowledge of and experience in the performance of instrumental and chamber repertoire.
- Experience playing in chamber groups.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact with students, their families, teachers and other members of faculty and staff to affect positive learning outcomes.
- Must complete a background check BEFORE working with Prep students
