Job Description Summary

At Wycliffe Bible Translators, your work is more than just a job. As a Workforce Specialist, you will support employer‑partner‑staff relations for our global workforce, ensuring staff and staff relations are healthy, thriving, and flourishing. You will work alongside Global Workforce Services (GWS) leadership and team members to facilitate functions, shepherd resources, and actively participate in team engagements to optimize culture, cohesion, performance, and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with partners, volunteers, interns, and contractors to support their employment experience.
  • Facilitate workforce relations activities and ensure high customer‑service standards.
  • Collaborate on departmental initiatives to provide a best‑in‑class experience for Wycliffe USA staff.
  • Represent GWS in meetings, projects, workshops, and partnership efforts.
  • Coordinate performance management, conflict management, and reconciliation processes.
  • Triage and process support requests received through verbal, phone, in‑person, or electronic communication.
  • Convey employment information, guidelines, and laws, ensuring compliance.
  • Maintain and submit documentation, correspondence, files, records, and reports on inquiries, developments, and resolutions.
  • Maintain knowledge of HR best practices, employee handbook, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with training and orientations, preparing professional presentations and documents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Workforce Relations, Senior Director of Workforce Relations, or Vice President of Workforce Experiences.
  • Maintain a high level of whole‑person care, professionalism, and efficiency throughout all tasks.

Minimum Skill Sets

  • Demonstrated desire and ability to support corporate biblical and religious goals and participate in regular work‑related spiritual activities.

  • Uses biblical principles to solve conflict, listens well, and develops God‑honoring relationships.
  • Maintains highest level of trust with customers, staff, and colleagues through confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Google Drive, Google Sheets, Gmail, and related productivity tools.
  • Associate’s degree plus 1–3 years of HR experience or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum one year of HR experience and/or SHRM‑CP/PHR certification required.
  • Nonprofit ministry or volunteer experience is beneficial; familiarity with Wycliffe/SIL context preferred.

Other Requirements

  • Secure reliable internet and phone connection when working remotely under the approved hybrid schedule.
  • Willingness to alter work schedules to work off‑hours across time zones.
  • Anticipate customer needs and develop proactive action plans.

Compensation

The hiring range for this position is $21.10/hr – $25.73/hr. The range is based on Wycliffe’s non‑profit ministry environment and may be higher based on qualifications, skills, experience, required training, licensure, and budget considerations.
