CSI Workforce Training and Development is seeking a forward-thinking, practical, and engaging AI & Applied Technology Instructor to deliver non-credit training programs for local businesses, professionals, and community members.
This role is not academic in the traditional sense-it is focused on translating emerging AI tools and concepts into real-world business application. The instructor will help demystify artificial intelligence and empower participants to use tools such as generative AI, automation platforms, and data-driven decision support in their daily work.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on experience with modern AI tools and the ability to teach in a way that is approachable, relevant, and immediately useful.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver short-term, non-credit training programs in areas such as:
- Practical use of generative AI tools (e.g., chat-based AI, content generation, workflow automation)
- AI for small business productivity and efficiency
- Prompting techniques and responsible AI use
- AI in marketing, operations, customer service, and decision-making
- Introductory AI literacy for non-technical audiences
- Translate complex and rapidly evolving technology into clear, usable, real-world applications
- Build hands-on, workshop-style learning experiences where participants leave with skills they can immediately apply
- Customize training for local employers and industry-specific use cases when needed
- Partner with Workforce Training staff to identify emerging AI training needs in the region
- Incorporate best practices around ethical use, data awareness, and responsible implementation
- Stay current on trends, tools, and practical applications of AI in business environments
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience (technology, business, data, or related areas)
- Demonstrated hands-on experience using AI tools in a professional or business setting
- Experience training, teaching, or facilitating adult learners preferred
- Ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear, non-technical, accessible way
- Experience working with small businesses, teams, or community-based organizations strongly preferred
- Ability to simplify complex ideas into practical takeaways
- Strong facilitation and engagement skills with adult learners
- Adaptability in teaching diverse audiences with varying levels of technical familiarity
- Curiosity and continuous learning mindset in an evolving field
- Focus on application, not theory
- Courses are typically delivered in short-format sessions (workshops, series, or contract trainings)
- Delivery may occur at CSI, employer sites, or community locations
- Flexible scheduling based on demand (including evenings or customized sessions)
- Opportunity to pilot and expand new AI-focused programming as community needs grow
CSI Workforce Training and Development delivers non-credit, skills-based education designed to meet the evolving needs of local businesses and the broader community. Programs emphasize practical application, flexibility, and responsiveness-helping individuals and organizations adapt to changing workforce demands.
Ideal Candidate Profile
This role is best suited for someone who:
- Actively uses AI tools in their own work-not just understands them conceptually.
- Enjoys helping others become more confident and capable with new technology.
- Thinks in terms of "how does this help someone do their job better tomorrow?"
- Can bridge the gap between emerging technology and everyday business use.
