Workers' Compensation SpecialistBASX, a subsidiary of AAON, is looking for a Workers' Compensation Specialist who is responsible for supporting and administering the company's workers' compensation program in a fully insured environment. This role involves coordinating claims in partnership with insurance carriers, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing support to both employees and management regarding workers' compensation matters. This position serves as the primary internal point of contact for all workers' compensation activity and is responsible for ensuring claims are handled effectively, employees are supported, and processes are followed in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.Primary Duties (not limited to):Manage the day-to-day operations of the workers' compensation program, ensuring prompt and efficient reporting and coordination of claims with insurance carriers and third-party administratorsCoordinate with medical providers, employees, and insurance carriers to facilitate a smooth claims process and timely resolutionServe as the primary liaison between the company and external partners (insurance carriers, adjusters, and medical providers) regarding claim activity and statusMaintain accurate records of all workers' compensation claims and related documentationEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local workers' compensation laws and regulations, as well as internal policiesProvide guidance and training to management and employees on workers' compensation procedures, reporting requirements, and expectationsAssist in reviewing claim activity and partnering with carriers to address issues, delays, or complex casesInvestigate and report on incidents and accidents to determine root cause and support implementation of preventive measuresWork closely with human resources and legal departments to support the handling of complex or litigated workers' compensation casesCoordinate return-to-work programs and assist in developing modified duty plans for injured employees in collaboration with management and medical providersMonitor and analyze trends in workers' compensation claims to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction opportunitiesPrepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies as neededPerform other duties as assignedJob RequirementsAssociate's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field; bachelor's degree preferredMinimum of 3+ years of experience in workers' compensation claims coordination or administration, preferably in a fully insured environmentBilingual (English/Spanish) preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Working knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulationsFamiliarity with claim processes, insurance carrier interactions, and legal procedures (e.g., joint petitions, interrogatories, and related documentation)Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive or complex situationsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and workers' compensation or claims management systemsAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretionCertification in Workers' Compensation (e.g., CWCP) preferredEssential Mental and Physical Functions:• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.• Occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs.• Use of fine motor skills for typing and document handling.• Ability to concentrate and make decisions in a dynamic work environment.• Regular interaction with employees, vendors, and regulatory agencies.Work Environment:Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office setting and may require frequent exposure to the manufacturing production floorWill be required to wear proper personal protective equipment and follow all safety proceduresMay be called into work outside of normal work hours or work extended hours in emergency situationsAbility to sit and stand for long periods of timeAbility to lift up to 25 lbsWork may require travel, including overnight staysBenefits and Compensation Summary:Tuition reimbursementPaid time-offPaid holidaysHealthcare insurance & Health Savings AccountsProfit sharing or Annual Incentive Plan BonusPremium 401(k) planPay Range: $71,622.00 - $87,538.00
