Responsibilities
- 1. Manage a full caseload of workers' compensation cases of varying degrees of complexity.
- 2. Prepare legal documents and reports with a high level of accuracy.
- 3. Conduct depositions of claimants, medical personnel, and other relevant parties.
- 4. Represent employers and carriers before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board.
- 5. Conduct and direct legal research to stay updated on current workers' compensation laws and regulations.
- 6. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in conjunction with claims adjusters.
Qualifications
- 1. Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- 2. Active member in good standing with the State Bar.
- 3. Minimum of 8+ years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
- 4. Proven track record in conducting depositions and trials.
- 5. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- 6. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases and tasks.
- 7. Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- 8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
