Workers Compensation Attorney for a law firm located in Irvine CA
This is a Direct Hire or Temporary to Hire opportunity, Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm (hours subject to fluctuation) with possible Overtime, as needed.
Prior Workers Compensation Attorney experience is required, with pay rate range as follows:
1+ year $125,000 plus bonus of 3% on fees collected from settlements
3+ years $145,000 plus bonus of 3% on fees collected from settlements

This role is designed for a litigator who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will manage a diverse caseload, providing strategic direction from initial filing through trial or settlement.
Essential Responsibilities
- Litigation & Advocacy: Represent clients at hearings and trials before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
- Discovery: Conduct and defend depositions, including applicant, witness, and expert medical cross-examinations.
- Case Strategy: Analyze complex legal issues, develop comprehensive case plans, and provide ongoing legal evaluations for each file.
- Negotiation: Accurately value claims, draft demand packages, and negotiate settlements (C&R/Stips) to maximize recovery for clients.
- Communication: Maintain high-level correspondence with clients to provide updates and manage expectations; interface effectively with defense counsel and insurance adjusters.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of dedicated Workers' Compensation law experience is required. Candidates with 3+ years of experience are preferred for senior-level files.
- Licensure: Must be an active member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
- Legal Expertise: Deep knowledge of the California Labor Code, AD Rules, and current case law trends.
- Professionalism: Strong oral advocacy and written communication skills; ability to manage a high-volume desk with precision.
