Workers' Comp Defense Attorney
Experience: Mid Level
Salary: $140,000 - $220,000 per year

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied docket of workers’ compensation files from intake through trial
- Draft and file pleadings, motions and discovery documents in administrative forums
- Conduct depositions and appear at mandatory settlement conferences, hearings and trials
- Strategize with claims adjusters, in-house counsel and risk managers to advance favorable outcomes
- Negotiate resolutions and draft settlement agreements that protect client interests
- Maintain precise, timely billing entries to satisfy monthly targets
- Mentor junior lawyers and collaborate with support staff to streamline workflows
Qualifications
- Active membership in the California bar
- Minimum of three years defending workers’ compensation claims for employers or carriers
- Demonstrated ability to bill north of 180 hours per month consistently
- Strong litigation skills, sound case-assessment abilities and practical judgment
- Exceptional written drafting and oral advocacy
- Capacity to juggle multiple matters and keep case files organized
- Familiarity with case management software and electronic filing systems
