Work Study, Student Support (Transfer Center)
Learning Objectives:
- Office Management Skills — Learn core administrative procedures, including student intake, use of office equipment, filing, data entry, and working with the MS Office suite.
- Transfer Preparation Support — Assist students with university transfer processes such as applications, FAFSA questions, and navigating tools like Transferology.
- Customer Service — Provide front-desk support by answering phones, greeting visitors, checking in students, scheduling appointments, directing guests, and sharing transfer resources.
- Marketing & Communication — Support promotion of Transfer Center events and services.
- Event Management — Help plan and execute Transfer Center events, including preparation, setup, registration, and wayfinding.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Consistently maintain 6 credit hours each semester;
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress;
- Adhere to College's confidentiality policy;
- Successfully pass background/drug screening;
- Answer phone and take messages;
- Clerical duties such as filing, data entry, copying and faxing;
- Open and sort mail;
- Strong interpersonal communication skills;
- Willingness to learn new technology;
- Assist with special projects;
- Other duties as assigned.
