Work Study Student

The Work Study Student will support the Department of Communication Arts as an Office Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2026. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Employment is contingent upon funding. Please confirm your Federal Work-Study eligibility with the Office of Financial Aid.

Responsibilities:

  • Greets and assists visitors, students, faculty, and staff in a professional and friendly manner
  • Maintains office supply inventory and notifies staff when supplies need to be reordered
  • Runs campus errands, including delivering and picking up documents or materials
  • Prepares materials for meetings, orientations, workshops, and campus events
  • Helps set up and break down meeting and event spaces as needed

Shift Specifics: Up to 12 hours per week. Flexible with schedule of availability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
  • Must be Federal Work eligible.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous office and customer service experience
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Professional, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
  • Proficiency with computer applications and Microsoft Office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Express, and Piktochart is a plus

Proposed Salary: $12.00 per hour. This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

ABILITIES: Consistently exhibit engaging customer service. Ability to support various constituencies served by the University. Proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

KNOWLEDGE: Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success.

SKILLS: Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills.
