The SSDC is the political arm of the Wisconsin Senate Democrats. It is overseen by Democratic Minority Leader Dianne Hesselbein for the 2026 cycle.Position Title: Campaign ManagerDepartment: Political/CampaignsReports to: Executive DirectorTarget Start Date: June 2025Classification: Full-time, in-personTerm: Limited term, through November 2026Campaign Manager overview:The Wisconsin State Senate Democratic Committee (SSDC) seeks Campaign Managers for targeted priority campaigns across the state of Wisconsin.
These Managers are responsible for all departments of each campaign: overseeing staff, consultants, partner organizations and the candidate. Managers report directly to their candidate and the SSDC Executive Director. These are political positions in a collaborative, fast-paced, and innovative environment.
The work of all Campaign Managers will require travel, weeknight, and weekend hours.Campaign Manager responsibilities:Directly manage a competitive State Senate campaignSupervise campaign staff, interns, and volunteersManage relationships with vendors, consultants, partner organizations and local groupsDevelop and execute a fundraising plan, manage calltime and eventsWork with SSDC staff and consultants to develop budgets and paid communications plansRespond to press inquiries, build relationships with reporters as appropriate, work with SSDC staff to implement an earned communications plan, and draft press releasesManage social media profilesDraft written content for the campaignCampaign Manager desired skills and qualifications:A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experienceKnowledge of Wisconsin politics and/or state legislative campaigns is preferredExperience working directly with candidates is idealVolunteer management experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Experience with Votebuilder, NGP, and ActBlue is desired but not requiredCampaign Manager compensation:$5,000 - $6,000 monthly salary, commensurate with experienceEmployer sponsored medical, dental and vision benefitsFor medical insurance, SSDC offers 90% employee premium coverage, 30% dependent premium coverage.For dental and vision insurances, SSDC offers 99% employee premium coverage.Retirement benefitsPaid sick and vacation time, along with other time off benefitsWe value diversity, equity and inclusion.
