Industrial Electrician

A manufacture in the Youngstown, Ohio area is hiring skilled Industrial Electricians / Wiring Technicians. In this role, you will assemble, wire, and test complex electrical control panels, switches, and industrial equipment. Using engineered blueprints and schematics, you will install low-voltage wiring, run conduit, and ensure all systems achieve safe, full functionality in strict compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).

Responsibilities

  • Reference shop prints, schematics, and single-line diagrams to determine exact equipment placement per NEC guidelines.
  • Securely install advanced systems including Switchgear (SWGR), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), transformers, DC chargers, and PLC cabinets.
  • Cut, bend, and thread EMT and RMC conduit. Install wire ways, conduits, and cable trays, ensuring proper grounding to customer specifications.
  • Mount sub-panels, switches, lights, and bundle holders onto frames or structural supports using precision alignment tools, torpedo levels, and tape measures.
  • Route, anchor, tie-wrap, flag, and tag wires. Measure and cut cabling accurately while leaving proper allowances for future connections.
  • Terminate connections between components using specialized electrician hand tools (strippers, crimpers, screwdrivers) and crimp appropriate lugs onto wire ends.
  • Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spot-face bolt holes using drill presses and portable power drills.
  • Apply precise wire labels, notify the Lead/Inspector when products are ready for Quality Assurance, maintain a safe workspace, and perform occasional customer site work as required.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

  • High School, GED, Technical Training (Industrial / Commercial Wiring)
  • Minimum of (2) years of experience wiring industrial electrical panels and working under applicable Quality Assurance Procedures (QAPs).
  • (2) years of hands-on experience with hydraulic conduit knockouts, conduit threaders, manual/power conduit benders, and standard industrial hand tools.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, blueprints, point-to-point prints, and wire schedules.
  • Lift, Push, and Pull 50 lbs. or more.
  • Forklift Certification is a plus.
  • Written, Verbal and Documentation
  • Valid US Work Authorization required without sponsorship.
  • Must Pass all - Physical, Drug Screen, Background check, and driving record review.
