Chief purpose of this position:

To provide generalCardiology clinical care along with supporting the academic missionin research and education.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Teaching:

To support teaching directly via interactions withMedical Assistant trainees and undergraduate students from TheCollege of William and mary. In addition, will be expected toparticipate in University Continuing Medical Education programs forpracticing physicians which is important to enhancing patientreferrals.

Research:

To support clinical research protocols asneeded.

Service:

Will be expected to participate in quality, safetyand efficiency initiatives

Clinical:

Will primarily be dedicated to the imaging andoutpatient and consultative services.

Other:

Submit billing and document care as required by theorganization. Abide by all medical staff requirements.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• BC/BE cardiologist with demonstrated skills in cardiovasculardisease
• Clinically oriented and possess sufficient research andteaching experience to be eligible for academic appointmentC
• Communicate effectively and work with a large multidisciplinaryprogram
• Participate in teaching and Fellowship programs
• Eligible for medical licensure in State of Virginia
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment ofrespect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty,staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or acommitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
