Our team is looking for a highly motivated Wi-Fi Firmware Engineer to drive the implementation and optimization of FW/SW design for Apple's latest products, including next generation of iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, Mac and more.Be a key member of the Wi-Fi Firmware development team, where you will work on FW/SW design, integration, testing and optimization from early prototypes until productization. The work involves documenting requirements, design documentation, FW implementation, performance evaluation on SW/HW prototypes, analyzing logs, and pushing features through the build process into released SW. Engineers will be working with extended teams in the system, HW, and PHY teams to complete joint effort features.ResponsibilitiesDevelop firmware code for Apple's Wi-Fi chip setsDesign / code / integrate code in C/C++ for Wi-Fi based algorithms to implement the 802.11 protocolWork with test teams to validate the developed featuresFollow release process for pushing features from concept to release candidatesDebug issues from the field examining logs, and over the air logsMinimum QualificationsYou're fluent in C/C++You understand wireless communications and have networking stack exposureYou understand communication theory and can contribute to technical discussions regarding wireless systemsYou're fluent in Git or other code source management toolsThrive in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate while driving multiple projects across teamsConsistently achieve results, even under tough circumstancesPossess a BS in electrical or computer engineering or equivalentYou are ready to use AI tools for development, testing and debugging FWPreferred QualificationsYou have a MS in electrical engineering or equivalentYou enjoy taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasmBuild partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectivesHandle conflict situations effectively, with a minimum of noisePay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
The base pay range for this role is between $129,300 and $225,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
