A leading specialty insurance brokerage is seeking a Professional Liability Broker to join its growing Houston team. This individual will play a key role in developing retail agency relationships, placing complex professional lines business, and expanding market opportunities across a variety of specialty coverages.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with retail agents and brokers to generate new business opportunities
- Market and place professional liability risks with carrier partners
- Develop creative placement strategies and identify new product opportunities
- Manage accounts of varying sizes while working toward handling larger and more complex risks independently
- Cultivate new brokerage markets and carrier relationships
- Travel to meet with agents, clients, and prospects throughout the region
- Monitor production metrics including new business growth, retention, and profitability
- Mentor and support junior brokers and team members
- Work closely with underwriting and carrier partners to secure solutions for clients
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Professional Lines, E&S, Wholesale Brokerage, or Specialty Insurance experience preferred
- Strong business development, sales, and relationship management skills
- Experience marketing and placing professional liability risks
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced, production driven environment
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- RPLU designation or pursuit of professional insurance designations is a plus
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience preferred
