Job Overview

A chief credit officer is a senior‑management‑level position within a bank or similar financial institution. The chief credit officer creates policies and procedures for granting credit—covering credit cards, car loans, mortgages, and other loan products—and ensures these procedures align with the institution’s goals and applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop policies and guidelines for credit approval and denial.
