The Engineering Manager will lead a team of Production and Facilities Engineers responsible for maximizing the value of Magnolia’s operated assets through safe, reliable, and cost-effective production and facility operations. This role is responsible for providing leadership, project oversight, and strategic direction for production optimization, facility development, capital projects, and operational improvement initiatives. The Engineering Manager will work closely with Operations to support the development and execution of projects while ensuring alignment with Company objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and mentor a team of Production and Facilities Engineers through coaching, performance management, and professional development.
- Serve as and active part of the Operations Leadership team, working with other leaders to act in concert to achieve the overall goals of the organization.
- Establish priorities and provide technical guidance to ensure effective execution of production optimization, facility projects, and operational initiatives.
- Drive production optimization efforts and identify opportunities to improve HSER, increase production, or reduce LOE or capital spending.
- Own the Artificial Lift performance of Magnolia’s assets, working with the Engineers and Operations teams to continuously improve run time, performance, etc.
- Coordinate with Operations, Reservoir Engineering, Geology, Land, HSER, Supply Chain, and Accounting to support asset development plans and business objectives.
- Monitor production performance, facility reliability, and operational KPIs and identify and implement opportunities to create value.
- Lead forecasting and capital planning activities related to production and facility development projects.
- Promote standardization of engineering, operational, and facility design practices across Company assets.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, Company standards, and environmental, health, and safety expectations.
- Provide leadership and strong advocacy for process and personal safety.
- Support due diligence activities and integration efforts associated with acquisitions and development opportunities.
- Lead and/or participate in Risk Assessments or Incident Investigations as required.
- Foster collaboration across disciplines and maintain strong working relationships with field and office personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant oil and gas engineering experience, preferably including Production Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or Operations Engineering experience.
- 2-3 years of experience managing or supervising an engineering team, preferred.
- Strong understanding of production operations, artificial lift systems, compression, facility design, and field infrastructure.
- Experience managing capital projects, facility construction, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Working knowledge of government regulations, permitting requirements, and industry codes and standards.
- Proven ability to develop budgets, forecasts, AFEs, cost estimates, and economic evaluations.
- Experience directing engineering consultants, contractors, and construction resources.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships and effectively lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on safety, operational excellence, and value creation.
