We have been recycling metal in Lane County for over 25 years and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and hard-working person to join our team immediately.Job Summary: Whole car processors are primarily responsible for the processing of all incoming scrap vehicles, including drainage of fluids, search for prohibited items, and other tasks to prepare vehicle for automobile shredderGeneral Responsibilities:Ensure a safe work environment for self and others at all timesCommunicate with yard personnelKeep whole car processing area clean, well-organized, and safeVerify VIN against customer paperworkRemove and properly store mercury switchesDrain all fluidsSearch car for any prohibited itemsRemove tiresPhysical Demands:Frequently required to reach with hands and armsAble to talk and hearStanding, sitting, walking, squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, and graspingDexterity of hands and fingersLift up to 50 pounds from the floor to waist level and carry such objects for at least 30 feetExposed to moving mechanical partsFrequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, heat, and outside weather conditionsThe noise level in the work environment varies from loud to very loudQualifications:Must be able to communicate effectively in English to understand instructions and emergency communications18 years of ageMust be able to pass a drug test and background checkExperience in scrapyard preferred but not requiredSelf-motivated and eager to learnReliable with the ability to adhere to a work scheduleWhat We Offer:Competitive payPTO starts at 2 weeks per year and increases with years of service8 paid holidaysCompany-sponsored medical, vision, and dental insuranceAnnual safety boot reimbursement401kFree gym membershipStarting pay $18-19/hr DOE Full-time position at 40 hours per week
