Wellness Center Receptionist Work StudyLocation: Ellsworth Community College Department: DHFAC Reports To: Head Softball Coach Semester: Fall 2026 Number of Openings: 10 Job Classification: Student, non-exempt, hourly timesheet Rate of Pay: $9.00/hourSummary: The purpose of this position is to handle front office reception and administration duties including greeting students and community patrons, answering phones, handling membership inquiries, and maintaining a safe, enjoyable environment. The length of employment is routinely the academic year (fall and spring terms); however, some work may be performed during the summer as needed.Job DutiesGreet and assist visitors in a professional and friendly manner at the front desk.Manage opening and closing procedures of the wellness center.Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and facility.Handle financial transactions accurately and responsibly.Supervise individuals using the wellness center to ensure safety and compliance with policies.Utilize computer skills to manage scheduling, record keeping, and communication tasks.Provide exceptional customer service and address inquiries or concerns promptly.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesExperience as a wellness center receptionist or similar front desk role preferred.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Reliable and able to manage opening and closing responsibilities independently.Basic financial handling and cash management skills.Ability to supervise individuals and maintain a safe facility environment.Proficient computer skills, including scheduling and communication software.Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication abilities.Education and Experience: HS diploma or equivalent Iowa Valley Community College District does not discriminate in its programs, activities, or employment on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, creed, religion, actual or potential family, parental or marital status, or other protected classes.
