We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. We are located between the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and the soft, sandy beaches of NC. About a 1.5‑2.5‑hour drive to for long weekends of fun!

As a veterinarian in our new state‑of‑the‑art hospital (opened on June 20, 2025) you will be responsible for providing high‑quality medical care and surgical care to a variety of companion animals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough examinations of animals and diagnose illnesses or injuries
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for companion animals based on their conditions
  • Train to perform or perform surgical procedures, such as spaying/neutering, pyometras, tumor removals, eye enucleations
  • Administer vaccinations and medications to prevent and treat diseases
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care, including nutrition, exercise, and grooming
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to provide comprehensive care
  • Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine through continuing education

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
  • Valid North Carolina state veterinary license within 1 year
  • Proficiency in animal catheterization, animal restraint, and general animal care techniques
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate pet owners
  • Ability to handle dogs and other animals with care and compassion
  • Knowledge of practice management software Clinic HQ preferred, but not required
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in shelter, non‑profit, emergency or private practice settings
  • Willingness to learn and grow with a new start‑up hospital
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast‑paced environment
  • Desire to improve the lives of our area’s most vulnerable animals and owners
  • Surgical training or enthusiasm for surgical training under a veterinarian with 15 years of surgical experience
  • Willingness to relocate to the greater Charlotte, N.C. area
