Wellfield Technician
Location: Milwaukee Wisconsin - Onsite Position
About the Role
Our client is a growing renewable energy company seeking a Wellfield Technician to support landfill gas collection operations across two sites. This is a hands-on, outdoor role responsible for monitoring and maintaining gas extraction wells, troubleshooting wellfield equipment, and helping ensure the gas collection system operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with site requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine monitoring of landfill gas extraction wells using handheld monitoring equipment and accurately document wellfield data.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain pneumatic pumps, wellheads, piping, valves, and other wellfield equipment.
- Conduct wellfield tuning to support gas collection performance, system balance, and compliance requirements.
- Troubleshoot operational issues including pump problems, low gas flow, vacuum concerns, liquid buildup, leaks, and damaged components.
- Communicate site conditions, equipment issues, and follow-up maintenance needs to the broader operations team.
- Follow all safety procedures, landfill site requirements, and environmental compliance practices.
Qualifications
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with pumps, mechanical equipment, maintenance, construction, environmental field work, or similar outdoor industrial work.
- Landfill gas, biogas, wastewater, oil & gas, or related field experience is preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
