Welding Engineer TechnicianThe Welding Engineer Technician works with welding equipment. This role utilizes advanced knowledge of Fronius equipment to support the sales process. The Welding Engineer Technician is responsible for demonstrating the value of Fronius products and services to new and existing customers.
This position requires frequent travel to customer sites, installation sites, and meetings.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesSupports the Fronius Sales Representative and/or the sales process in the designing of system installation parameters for routine configuration and installation of Fronius product to clients and potential clientsOrganizes and executes product tests at customer locations during the pre-serial/test phase as well as forwarding this knowledge to the national team.Evaluates the client's needs for upgrades or up-sells of current or new installationsWorks independently with clients and prospective clients at their locations providing product guidance and support and addressing installation and product usability issues of routine to moderate complexityAttends/facilitates presentations or develops proposals, conducts demonstrations, acting as the technical expertProvides application advice for Fronius team members, end customers, distributors, and dealersPerforms welding system and software installations and integrations at client locationsConducts test welds of client or prospective client prototypes and/or samples, documenting the results on the Fronius intranetPrograms, troubleshoots, and tests robotic control unitsConducts training events for colleagues, distributors, dealers, and end clients with a focus on new and repeat salesCustomizes training documents for new and existing clientsProvides technical support for the introduction of products/systems/processes onto the marketForwards feedback about market, competition, and products to the national teamParticipates in trade fairs and provides product and technical guidance and support at regional and national eventsProvides email and telephone support for routine welding queries/problemsLeads and/or supports initiation of modifications and further developments of Fronius productsFacilitates and leads Feasibility StudiesAll other duties as assigned by managementRequirementsPossess a valid passport, or has the ability to obtain and pay for a valid passportRegular travelMust be willing and authorized to travel throughout the USA and EuropeMust have a valid driver's license1-4 years of experience in the field and/or Associates Degree in an appropriate area of specialtyPreferred Welding Engineering Technology B.S.Knowledge of Spanish and/or German a plusStrong knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Power PointAbility to work independently and/or remotelyCandidate must be able to work with a team or alone as the need arisesProblem-solving skillsAbility to work on multiple projectsDemonstrated ability as a team contributorHealth and SafetyMust comply with all safety and health standards established by Fronius USA, LLC and federal, state, or local requirements.Ability to bend and reach, with repetitive motion.Hearing, naturally or with aids.Vision 20/20, with or without correction.Physical demands of the job include standing, use of hands to manipulate objects, talking, hearing, looking, typing, walking, twisting, and bending,Employees could be requested to lift, carry, reach above the shoulder, stoop, squat, kneel, and crouch.Employees could be required to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.Employees will perform duties in an office environment and a field setting.Employees will be occasionally exposed to tripping hazards.The noise level in the work environment is usually low to medium.BenefitsFlexible work schedule with hybrid optionsPTO available immediately plus 11 paid holidaysEmployer matched 401(k)Medical, Dental, and Vision covered 100% for employees50% company paid Health, Dental, Vision for your familyEmployee Assistance ProgramShort-Term and Long-Term DisabilityFlexible Spending Accounts for Health Care and Dependent Care
