This position will plan, lay-out, weld, install, test and repair all types of pipe and similar tubular products in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes, and industry standards. Looking for long-term candidates who are looking for a secure and rewarding company to grow with.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial oil refining piping and associated structuresSupervise and train welder helpersDevelop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications, and plan, lay-out, install and/or repair all types of piping in accordance with those plans and specificationsExamine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost-saving measures that arise or that may be encountered. Take corrective actions as neededProperly choose filler metals and construction material to complete assignmentsOther duties may be assigned as needed to support business operations.Minimum QualificationsRequired:Minimum of 5 years of welding experience requiredPrior welding experience in the construction, mining or related industry or prefer a two-year vocational-technical degreeCompleting a welding qualification is a requirementOrbital welding training will be provided but prior orbital welding experience is a plusMust meet all state license requirementsAccurate and precise attention to detailMust have working knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations regarding piping systemsMust be familiar with properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniquesMust have proficiency in commonly used welding processes, including SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW.
