Table WelderThis role focuses on operating laser cutting and metal fabrication equipment to produce precision metal components in a fast-paced fabrication and welding shop. You will work from engineering drawings and work orders to cut, bend, drill, and inspect metal parts, ensuring they meet strict quality and dimensional standards while supporting overall production flow.ResponsibilitiesOperate laser cutting machines to produce precision-cut metal components in accordance with engineering drawings and production specifications.Set up, program, and monitor laser equipment to ensure clean cuts, proper tolerances, and consistent part quality throughout each production run.Operate press machines and press brakes to bend, form, and shape metal parts, verifying angles, dimensions, and alignment using appropriate measuring tools.Operate drill presses to drill, tap, countersink, and machine holes in metal components as required by the job specifications.Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting to keep equipment running efficiently and reduce downtime.Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measurement tools to ensure compliance with quality and dimensional standards.Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders to complete jobs accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all shop safety procedures and required personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.Collaborate closely with fabrication and welding teams to support production flow and meet daily manufacturing and output goals.Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail while working independently in a fast-paced machine shop environment.Essential SkillsHands-on experience operating laser cutting machines to produce precision metal components.Proficiency in setting up, programming, and monitoring laser equipment to maintain proper tolerances and cut quality.Experience operating press machines and press brakes to bend, form, and shape metal parts to specified dimensions.Ability to operate drill presses for drilling, tapping, countersinking, and machining holes in metal components.Competence in routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting.Strong skills in using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measurement tools for part inspection.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders accurately.Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail in a manufacturing or machine shop setting.Ability to work independently and productively in a fast-paced fabrication and welding environment.Experience working with flux core welding and stainless steel materials.Comfort using tape measures and other basic fabrication tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in general fabrication and machine shop operations.Ability to collaborate effectively with fabrication and welding teams.Willingness to learn and cross-train on different machines and processes.Strong commitment to following safety procedures and PPE requirements.Why Work Here?You will join a supportive shop environment where leaders actively help with training and ensure you are placed in the right role to succeed. First shift typically runs from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and second shift typically runs from 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, proper use of PPE, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of OLATHE, KS.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
