WelderThis role focuses on MIG welding mild and stainless steel to produce custom and production exhaust systems for power generation, oil and gas, marine, locomotive, construction, and off-road markets. You will perform high-quality welds, tack weld components, and assemble exhaust systems while reading and interpreting blueprints and weld symbols. You will also support general fabrication activities across the shop to help deliver precise, reliable products and continuously grow your skills.ResponsibilitiesPerform MIG welding on mild steel and stainless steel to manufacture exhaust systems for a variety of applications, including power generation, oil and gas, marine, locomotive, construction, and off-road equipment.Execute both custom and production-style MIG welding, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to specifications.Carry out tack welding and assemble exhaust systems according to detailed blueprints and work instructions.Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to build products accurately from prints.Complete a weld test by working from a print to build a finished product that meets quality and dimensional requirements.Assist with metal fabrication tasks such as operating a brake press, shear, roller, and other fabrication equipment as needed.Use measuring tools, including tape measures, to verify dimensions and ensure components meet required tolerances.Perform basic fabrication operations such as cutting, fitting, and preparing materials for welding, including plasma cutting when required.Work on a variety of tasks throughout the shop to support production needs and expand technical capabilities.Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow shop organization standards to support safety and efficiency.Inspect welds and fabricated components for quality, making adjustments or repairs as necessary to meet standards.Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and ensure timely completion of orders.Essential SkillsProficiency in MIG welding on mild steel and stainless steel.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and build products directly from prints.Ability to read and understand weld symbols.Experience with MIG welding in custom and production environments.Basic metal fabrication skills, including cutting, fitting, and assembly of components.Ability to use a tape measure accurately and work to specified dimensions and tolerances.Capability to perform a weld test by building a product from a provided print.Hands-on welding experience gained on the farm, at school, or on the job.Comfort working on a variety of tasks throughout the shop to support different production needs.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience operating fabrication equipment such as brake presses, shears, and rollers.Familiarity with TIG welding or other welding processes, even at a basic level.Exposure to working with wire feed welding equipment.Practical experience in welding and fabrication environments, including educational, farm, or industrial settings.Willingness to assist with different fabrication tasks as needed and learn new processes and equipment.Why Work Here?You will join a growing organization in a new phase of development, offering significant opportunities for advancement as the business expands.
