Welder/Fabricator - Custom Fabrication & Commercial Steel

Steel Roots Welding & Fabrication is looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our growing team. If you take pride in producing high-quality custom work and enjoy working on a variety of projects, we'd like to hear from you.

Position Overview

This is a full-time position for a skilled welder/fabricator with 3-5 years of experience in structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication. Our work ranges from custom residential entry gates and architectural metalwork to commercial steel fabrication and installation . No two projects are exactly the same.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld steel projects from shop drawings and blueprints.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and construction blueprints.
• Lay out, fit, weld, and finish custom metal projects.
• Fabricate custom entry gates, handrails, stair systems, fences, and miscellaneous commercial steel.
• Operate common fabrication equipment including saws, ironworkers, drill presses, grinders, and other shop tools.
• Maintain quality workmanship while meeting project deadlines.
• Assist with field installations when required.
• Travel overnight on occasion for out-of-town projects.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of welding and fabrication experience required.
• Strong blueprint reading and layout skills.
• Proficient in MIG welding (TIG and Stick experience is a plus).
• Experience fitting and fabricating structural and miscellaneous steel.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work safely in a shop and job-site environment.
