WelderThis role involves performing high-quality MIG and TIG welding on a variety of materials, fabricating parts and assemblies to specification, and ensuring all work meets precise measurements and quality standards in a busy shop environment. You will read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings, operate welding and material-handling equipment safely, and maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area.ResponsibilitiesPerform MIG welding on a variety of materials and components with precision and consistency.Perform TIG welding on a variety of materials, including stainless steel, with accuracy and consistency.Fabricate parts and assemblies according to specifications and project requirements.Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate builds and proper fit-up.Accurately measure materials using a tape measure to meet project tolerances and quality standards.Operate welding equipment safely and maintain it in good working condition.Safely operate overhead cranes to move raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs as needed throughout the shift.Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as necessary.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop safety standards and procedures.Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of tools and machinery.Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete jobs on time and meet production goals.Essential SkillsProven proficiency in TIG welding techniques.Demonstrated proficiency in MIG welding techniques.Experience with metal fabrication, including stainless steel welding.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.Strong tape measure and measurement skills with the ability to hold tight tolerances.Experience operating welding equipment in a production or shop environment.Certified or experienced in operating overhead cranes, or willingness to be trained and certified.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.Ability to stand, bend, and work in a shop environment for extended periods of time.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with stainless steel fabrication and welding.Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled plant environment.Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet production demands.Reliability and punctuality for early morning first-shift hours.Strong safety awareness and adherence to shop safety practices.Why Work Here?You will join a team that rewards hard work with overtime opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package once you are brought on permanently. The environment is an active shop setting that requires standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working around welding and material-handling equipment. Personal protective equipment includes steel-toed boots, which you must provide, while the company supplies other PPE such as welding hoods, gloves, safety glasses, and jackets.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dothan, AL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
