WelderThe welder is responsible for fabricating, fitting, repairing, and welding metal components used in the production of building products, structural assemblies, and related equipment. This role performs precision welding and metal fabrication while ensuring work meets company quality standards, customer specifications, and safety requirements. The welder reviews production drawings, prepares materials, performs high-quality welds, inspects completed work, and supports production schedules through safe, efficient manufacturing practices.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing or fabrication environment.Welder ResponsibilitiesPerform MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core, or other required welding processes on production, fabrication, and repair projects according to work orders and specificationsRead and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, engineering drawings, and production work ordersMeasure, lay out, fit, cut, grind, and prepare steel components for fabrication and assemblySet up welding equipment, fixtures, clamps, and materials according to production specificationsAlign and secure components using appropriate measuring and layout toolsFabricate, modify, and repair metal components and assemblies to meet dimensional and quality requirementsPerform torch cutting, material preparation, and finishing operations as requiredProduce quality welds while maintaining production schedules and efficiency standardsProduction SupportWork on multiple fabrication and welding projects simultaneously while meeting production schedulesLift, move, stage, stack, and organize raw materials and completed products safelyCoordinate with production, fabrication, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure materials are available when neededAssist with fabrication, assembly, and production activities as business needs requireComplete production reports, quality documentation, and operational records as requiredSupport continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and workflowQuality fabrication, industrial fabrication, or construction environmentsPrevious MIG welding experience in a production or manufacturing environment preferredAWS welding certification or equivalent technical certification preferredWelding trade school or apprenticeship training is a plusExperience with MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-Core welding processesExperience operating fabrication equipment including grinders, saws, clamps, and layout toolsForklift certification or ability to obtain certification is a plusWork is performed in manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, and industrial
