Job TitleThis position will work within teams to weld aluminum and steel enclosed and aluminum open trailer frames. Following health and safety rules, wear personal protective equipment. Read and correctly interpret work orders. Proper operation of welding machines, grinders, torches, tape measures, squares, cranes and miter/chop saws. Proficiency at reading and executing BOM's and blueprints.
Demonstrate understanding and application of weld types (ex: Fillet, Seam, Spot, etc.). Demonstrate understanding and application of joint types (ex: Butt, Corner, Edge, Lap, Tee). Demonstrate understanding and application of weld pass positions (Push/Pull, Uphill/Downhill, etc). MIG Weld aluminum. MIG Weld steel.
TIG Weld aluminum. Demonstrate understanding and proper use of framing jigs for models and layouts. Demonstrate ability to perform within multiple workstations (Frame Table, Walls, Roof, Fab). Ensure correct axle placement and squareness. Measure, square, and plumb linears prior to final weld placements.
Ensure ramp doors/gates are installed plumb and square and function properly. Grind any raised welds in areas that will be covered by another flush mount material later (Skins, Roofing, Wood). Inspect work for completion prior to releasing to next cell. Store tools and materials in proper locations when not in use.
