Weld TechnicianThe Weld Technician supports welding operations by maintaining weld process stability, performing inspections and testing, and assisting with troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities. This role ensures weld quality meets internal standards and customer requirements through hands-on technical support, testing, and inspection. The weld technician will report to the Customer Quality Manager.Responsibilities:Support and follow the Company Safety ProgramSupport daily welding operations (MIG, TIG, Resistance, or Robotic welding as applicable)Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot welding equipment, tooling, and fixturesPerform cut and etch inspections to evaluate weld penetration, fusion, and nugget sizeConduct destructive weld testing (peel tests, chisel tests, torque/tension tests, macro-etch samples, etc.)Perform basic nondestructive testing and inspections such as visual inspection, dye penetrant, and magnetic particle (as applicable)Interpret inspection results and identify weld defects or process deviationsAssist with corrective actions and process improvements based on inspection findingsRead and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and inspection standardsSupport weld process validation, trials, and customer or internal auditsMaintain accurate records of inspection results, weld parameters, and test dataFollow all safety, quality, and production requirementsMaintain & produce Red Rabbits at cellPreferred Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentWeld certification (AWS or equivalent) – desiredWorking knowledge of welding processes and materialsExperience using a microscope / softwareStrong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and processesAttention to detailAbility to work in a manufacturing environment and support production needsAbility to lift 40+ poundsJob Location: Supports the Gerstco Manufacturing Group with some travel as required.
